or are going to buy it and follow the installation guidelines, then

leaving “PatchMaker Demo edition” as the selected item.

files, the uninstalling utility, the manual, and sample files will
be placed there. Below the input field, you can see the disk spaces
required for installation and that available on the selected disk.
The suggested (default) folder will be acceptable in most cases. Just
press "Next".

Choose a program group where PatchMaker shortcuts will be placed.
After the installation, you will be able to launch PatchMaker from
the |
menu by accessing the group that you indicate here. Again, you may
leave the default setting unchanged and press "Next".

-
This page gives you the last chance to go back and correct any erroneous
settings. If you are sure to proceed, press "Next".

-
Next, you will see two installation progress indicators. The process
will normally take a few seconds, and then the next page appears.
It may happen that files having the same names as those to be copied
are already present on your computer. In this case you will be asked
to overwrite or keep them. We advise you to always use the default
settings, unless you know exactly what should be done.

-
This page informs you about successful installation. If you want
to start working with PatchMaker immediately, check the box next to
"Run PatchMaker". Press "Finish".

-
If Adobe After Effects (AE) was running during the installation,
you should restart it for the installed plug-in to be detected and
loaded.
Location of the AE plug-in
During the installation, PatchMaker searches for the most recent AE version
installed on your computer and, when found, the plug-in module PatchMaker.aex
is copied to the AE Plug-ins\Custom\ folder. This is enough
for the plug-in to be detected by AE the next time it is started.
If PatchMaker fails to locate AE on your computer, the plug-in will be
placed in the Program Files\Adobe\After Effects 5.5\Plug-ins\Custom\
folder. If you install AE 5.5 later than PatchMaker, the plug-in will
be automatically detected. If an AE folder was found erroneously, you
should move the file PatchMaker.aex to the correct Plug-ins\Custom\
folder manually. The same should be done if you have more than one AE
version installed.
